Hi There

I just bought a 2003 R1150R (Rockster). And yep I know I could post this in the Rockster section but thought this forum may have more activity?

Loving the bike so far but I'm getting a little knee pain on longer rides (50yo long legs).

Anyway I've been researching most the peg lowering kits available (Wildhair, Suburban Machinery and MV Verholen/Motorrad).

I guess I'm liking the look of the MV Verholen one's the best because of their apparent adjustability. http://www.mv-motorrad.de/lshop,showdet ... 418,,,.htm

However I was wondering if anyone who has actually owned or used them could comment on the following:

Do they move the pegs outwards and does that still feel ok?

Do you need to purchase the brake lever cap (if the pegs are moved outwards)? http://www.mv-motorrad.de/lshop,showdet ... 179,,,.htm

I know this topic has probably been flogged to death but I'd really appreciate any assistance from Verholen peg lowering kit owners/users!!

Well asked a similar question direct to Verholen. I must say they are fantastic with their prompt email responses.

They advised that everything I will need comes with the kit but the recommend the MV Brake Lever adapter Cap to make braking a little more comfortable.

I think this will be the kit I will be going for.

I really love riding the Rockster (apart from my long legs issue). Such an easy bike to ride. Even compared to my old KTM Super Duke, it's such a a nice and smooth bike to ride around town.

I also had knee pain after a few hours of riding the stock seat, which has been alleviated by a using the high seat. It adds a couple of inches and is more comfortable.

I initially considered a peg lowering kit but after busting off a foot-peg feeler decided to maintain ground clearance for the twisties.

In general, I try to adapt myself to the bike rather than the other way around.

I think the Rockster comes out stock with the high seat so might look at getting some height added to the padding?

I have a mate who is an upholsterer by trade.

I think I might also still try out the pegs.

I'm a pretty sedate rider so need all the help I can get to be able to touch a peg!!

Well ordered the pegs on a Sunday from Motorrad in Germany and they arrived in Western Australia the following Monday. Thats what I call good service!

Unfortunately I'm away at work for another 2 weeks but looking forward to seeing and fitting them.

Will take a couple of photos etc too.
