That is indeed a first gen. It did not work at all for me, though I must admit that was before I discovered tilting the screen. My second gen Cee Bailey with a 1/2 inch Don C block works just perfect (for me).

And my experience was exactly the opposite of Mikes..
My Gen-1's work for me (tilted back with a modified touring screen mount), tried the Gen-II (designed with a lot of help from an R1200R forum member), and found it didn't work well for me. No turbulence off the top, but strong turbulence off the side wingies.. Went back to my collection of Gen-1 screens.
Don't discount it just because it's a Gen-1. Some of us prefer that design.

Didnt work for me either (Gen 1) w/or w/o a block. Had to tap and go with a larger bolt before it was over.
Yet..
I have friends who are on a first name basis w Cee Baileys - cauese they go through so many bikes. He is on a 40,000+ mile annual pace, and his wife is on a 20,000 mile pace. Both are gainfully employed - full time.
