Hi to all!

I got an itch that needs scratching, the latest version of the BMW R1200R.

$23000 I had a quote for in Australia on the road including many extras for that price.

Do I go for it? My last BMW was a R1100s but the engine disappointed me somewhat. I feel the new DOHC Boxer will fit the bill now though and about time BMW got their poo together and updated this old engine.

Yes the bike was gorgeous, especially in Red I always liked looking at it, but to expand it was a combination of things really, gearbox was rough and annoyed me, bike was a little to big and heavy for me, and the engine lacked in power.

I would not trade my equipped R1200R back for the 1800cc GoldWing I rode for the last nine years. I'm not insanely in love with the looks of the R12R but, like any motorcycle, I can't see it when I'm riding it. Form follows function - practically perfect bike for me. Wonderful thumpy lumpy twin on the low end and enough zip-torque over 5500rpm to induce a pucker factor. I tried an 1100 and an 1150, liked both, but overwhelmingly preferred the 1200.
