BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

Good Afternoon
I have a 1999 BMW R1100RT, an old California Highway Patrol bike. I need to find the engine number to get it registered. Would anyone be able to tell me where the number is located and how many numbers are included in the engine number?

Right side of the engine block. Gotta get down on your hands and knees...take a good flashlight. Engine Serial Number is on the block stamped from bottom up in a vertical line. Should be able to see without removing body work. Located on the R.side engine block just ahead of where the Right cylinder head attaches. Hope that helps.
