Quick Disconnect Change Info Needed

Quick Disconnects will be here Monday. Whats required when making the change? Empty the tank? or remove the tank
Cut or bend the original hose clamps to remove, with dykes(side cutters) any additional fuel line needed?

May want to change the Air Cleaner and new Battery while the tanks off, that's my plan. Also going to hook up my Jacket lead to the Battery.

I just replaced mine today!

The old ones were a bitch to remove – I took out the bike-side QDs first, which came out after a lot of wiggling. Then I used those pieces to plug into the tank-side QDs to get better leverage (and I imagine there is some suction-related advantage in that too).

I left the existing fuel lines, they're in good shape.
I cut through the existing clamps *very carefully* with a dremel (I know this is dumb and there is a better tool for this)
I did not drain the tank, just kept a few golf tees handy to plug lines.

Those chrome/brass replacements are really slick and they're going to make it so much less of a hassle to remove the tank.

That is actually a common way people do it. Scary, yes, but I haven't heard of anyone blowing themselves up with that technique.

Changed them on the 02 today and all is good. Only thing is the FI hose clamps leave a long bolt end sticking out from the clamp, have to angle them appropriately so they don't chaff anything.

you can get vacuum end caps to cover protruding screws. Home depot lowes, etc. you've seen them, you just didn't know what they were called. Might find them at Pep Boys or Advance Auto also.
Like a little piece of plastic or rubber that slips over the end of the screw.
