Was on my way home after a day of lovely riding around on secondary roads north west of where I live. Had been driving on the interstate for about 100km "at times somewhat" over the posted speed limit of 110km/h and after just having passed a couple of lorries rather fast in the outside lane, had just rolled of the throttle somewhat to about 130km/h and being a bit preoccupied pondering whether or not I should pull over to fill up now or later when suddenly a police car passes me on the inside with the driver wagging his finger at me.

Thank god they where obviously going somewhere more important, and thank god they didn't catch up with me earlier

When I first saw the car beside me I for sure thought the day had come for my first speeding ticket, but when they just pulled away I could hardly believe my luck.

Apart from that brief moment of anxiety I had a lovely day of riding, sun was shining even if temps were a little low, but very little traffic and good roads

I think we've all experienced something like that at least on one occasion but perhaps without the finger wagging. First you have a feeling of a downer, then complete elation.

Normally when this happens, you need to stop and change underwear. Glad you made it home without an incontinent moment (and ticket - btw, most people don't realize that in Sweden that those are VERY expensive and have a lasting effect on your driving record).

Yep, 21-25km/h over as I was going when they passed me would have cost me about 280€. 30km/h or more over the limit costs you your license for a couple of months (time depends on how much over and other factors) along with a 350-400€ fine.

Decided to spend some of the money I saved yesterday on a foot peg lowering kit

I almost got caught doing 40mph in a 25 residential street...... I didn't even realize how fast I was going but when I saw the cop, who luckily had his head down, I looked at my speed and saw I was 15 over... and hit the brakes.. I'm still getting used to this bike and it's relative quiet and ease to attain speed.

I have an increasingly hard time keeping speeds reasonable on my bike, in a car I find it much easier to obey the rules but somehow speed limits is in some ways the least of my worries when riding. Much more preoccupied with traffic, cornering and road conditions. Besides, on the highway doing 100km/h feels really really slow.
