brakes

i replaced my brake pads, re assembled them. and when i went to bleed the line(rear brake), i pressed the pedal down a couple times and the hose sprung a leak! so now i have a brake line(off the caliber) with a hole... question is; why did the pressure build enough to cause a break in the line and why did it not vent through the quick bleed niple??

thank you for input
T

Might be either a closed niple or it was simply the a damaged brake line as weakest link...

You have been lucky that it happened when you changed the brake fluid. Brake lines really need renewing after a while but many don't seem to care. If you hadn't changed the fluid you would have had this happening to you when you really wanted the brake to work.
