Help to identify a part

So after 120 mile ride today i was puting bike away and noticed a small part on the left side of the cylender

here are some close ups of the part



I looked around i do not see anywhere where it can possibly come from, nothing is loose, the bike runs fine, but i am concerned. it is possible i picked something of the road but its very weird location for it to land itself.

Looking at pars fiche it kind of looks like part 11 & 10, but how the hell it came apart and am i missing more parts now because of it


it could also be part 9& 10 here, they appear to be the same

upon looking more i am convinced it is parts 5,6,7,8


still not sure how it would come apart, need to look on the bike again probably tomorrow

NYL, Have a look under the rear left of the tank where the gas tank is bolted to the bike. I bet you find the bolt is missing, and the part you found is item 5/7 in your illustration. I believe you'll have to remove some side panels to get to this.

grr, annoying considering the last time the tank came off the bike it was at the dealer, but it sounds like this is not something that will prevent me from riding or getting to the dealer to get the right parts. Hopefully it is just that part under the tank and nothing serious.
Looking at this post http://lillin.hu/kepek/042_gastank/index.html , i believe i know what i am missing, picture 8. Which makes me believe the dealer screwed up and did not secure it properly.

Exactly. Whoever took off the tank last would be suspect. You will likely need a new bolt, unless you find it hiding in the bike somewhere. Safe to ride without this bolt as long as you don't do stopies or crash.

That's one half of the tank rubber mounting assembly. You probably find the tank still bolted in, but the person who loosened it last didn't reassemble it right. The tank has a mounting flange with one half of the rubber mount going in from the front and visible (bet that's still there) and the other half going in from the rear. The latter is most likely the one that got pushed out backwards and ended up on the cylinder. You need to remove the seat and left plastic to access the area.

I can assure you - it's not parts 10 & 11 from the engine. If they were missing you'd have a very oil soaked right foot.. that's the oil pressure relief valve.

well after taking all the plastic off, all my parts are there, nothing is missing, i took a ride to the dealer to confirm what part it was, and they could only think of one place, same as me and you guys under the tank, so the only conclusion we could come up with is when the fuel strip was replaced, they must have misplaced one and installed a new one, and this is what turned up 6 month later lol
