I've tried searches both here, Google, and the Haynes website but can't find a service manual for a 2010 R1200R. :smt102

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Check out Haynes Service & Repair Manual #4598 for BMW R1200 Twins '04 to '09. It covers the R along with the GS, the ST, the S and the RT.

Mike - thanks for the tip, but just to be sure - it'll cover the '10 just fine? It's the same bike so it seems like it would, but the '09 cutoff of the manual makes me hesitate...

The Haynes book (I have it) covers only Hexhead bikes. Doesn't the 2010 R have the Camhead motor? If so, this book wouldn't address the motors' top-end, nor the other changes to instrument design and mounting. I'll guess that Haynes will have an updated edition sometime. Haynes has a US office in Newbury Park CA; ask and see what they say.

Greg, I don't know for sure. But dbrick makes a good point: if your bike is a hexhead, this manual will cover it. If your bike is the new camhead, it won't.

Dave, I missed you this weekend. Let me know next time you are coming down.

Dave/Mike - Thanks for the replies. I've got a Hexhead so I'm going to go with the R1200 '04-'09 Manual.

Thanks again!

I looked and it appears the 2010 R1200 Haynes is not out yet. Chop, are you sure you don't have camhead engine? You may be better off waiting, or seeing if you can find a manual for a bike with an HP engine.

I agree it's not listed, which is why I posted the original question. I'm pretty sure the '09 and '10 models are just about the same, and the new camhead engine didn't hit the R12R until '11, while it was in the GS and RT a year earlier. The camhead being in the GS and RT for '10 may be the reason why the Haynes manual stops at '09 for the hexheads even though the hexhead engine was still in the R12R in '10...

Were there any changes to the R12R from '09 to '10 that I'm missing?

My 2010 is a Hexhead.

The 2010 R1200R is a hexhead. The camheads didn't make it to the R1200R model until 2011.

And the difference between an '09 and '10 is - the model year. That's it..
