Hungry Mother 8 will be based at the Loop C campground in Hungry Mother State Park, which is on VA-16 just north of Marion, VA. As we have done in recent years, we have already reserved the entire campground. Dates are Friday August 19 till Sunday August 21.

Loop C is a beautiful, spacious, heavily-wooded campground with large tent sites that have wood tent platforms and picnic tables. Each year, the Hungry Mother ride has been a most enjoyable weekend of great camping fun and even greater riding on the roads that traverse the steep ridges and narrow valleys of southwest Virginia. There are 10 tent sites in Loop C. Each one will be made available to the first riders to reimburse me for a site. Riders will choose their site that weekend on a first come, first choice basis. It should be noted here that there is not a bad campsite in Loop C. The last rider to arrive will get a great site and lots of tent erection suggestions.

I'm in but seeing as my bike can't carry a mattress big enough for me to be comfortable, I will most likely be staying at a motel.

According to the schedule at the Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, TN), the races are not scheduled until the following weekend... Aug. 26-27.

Pre-race (Sharpie 500) activities start Aug. 23, so rooms should be available, but it wouldn't hurt to make a reservation in advance.

I'm hoping that after the Bash there is some interest shown in this event. This is a great place to go and ride for a couple of days. For the last few years this has been my favorite weekend getaway for the WHOLE year. Plus we need more people to throw in for a better deal on the pizza Friday night.

I should be there. I just have to consult the master calendar.

Just heard on the news that Hwy 16 is being widened into a 4 lane slab next week....and the Chinese have parachuted into HM SP and are holding camping loop C hostage.

Just checking to see if anyone was "listening" to this thread. Coop started it and, I think, has now abandoned it!

Several of us have sent in the money but don't appear on the list at the top.

I have the dates on my calendar, but as usual won't know until the last minute whether I will make it or not.
