loose screws

Post by rpoppen »

Taking the lids off my hard cases (in order to paint them) I discovered two hinge screws missing and the others were loose. Might be a good idea to check them once in a while. Perhaps a lock washer would help.

I've lost several - until I took each one out and put a drop of medium locktite(tm) on it. Haven't lost one since. It's the only part on the bike that has loosened up (remembering back to Brit bikes this seems a miracle.)

Thanks Don, great tip! =D>

#-o BMW item number 439 on my list of things that give BMW's character, and keep the owner busy..

I'll keep an eye on that as I break in the Mistress. :)

Thanks for the tip. I pulled my bags off yesterday and every screw was loose. Hadn't lost any. Used a drop of locktight on each screw. I'll make it a point to keep an eye on them.
