Belly Lift
Can someone please tell me if you know where I can buy a Belly Lift? I have a friend who needs a Belly Lift.

Either push away from the table a bit sooner, or just get liposuction.Boxer wrote:Can someone please tell me if you know where I can buy a Belly Lift? I have a friend who needs a Belly Lift.

alright, I'll bite.
what's a belly lift?
Do you mean a tummy tuck? Abdominoplasty? or is a belly lift some sort of device sold at Harbor Freight?

Re: Belly Lift
I think it's some sort of strap arrangement you put around your shoulders to allow you to lift things easier. I saw something like that on some shopping-channel show years ago. I did a Google search without any results. Maybe it was called something slightly different. Any more info, Boxer?

Re: Belly Lift
This reminds me of the segment on 'This Old House" episodes where the one guy produces some odd contraption and the others attempt to tell what it is and what it's used for, often with a great deal of creative ingenuity.
In this twist of that little game, (after some libations) I have simply made up a name and thrown it out. I'm just amazed I got any answers at all...and to be honest I forgot all about it until today when I came across it in the "Off Topic" forum.
Craig, your answer made my day.

Re: Belly Lift
You made this up?
Ok, I took this topic seriously and tried to guess your intent. My only conclusion was either (1) a moto lift designed for cradle frame bikes, like this unit:
http://m.sears.com/productdetails.do;js ... 950191000P
Or (2) a good set of suspenders for those gentlemen who have abandoned the restrictive confines of a belt, and moved towards the liberating effects of waistband suspension systems. FWIW I hear Ohlins makes a fine set of braces, though the gold and blue motif can be a challenge for fashion coordination.
As for option (1), I can recommend that particular Craftsman lift, even for engine-as-stressed-member boxer bikes like ours, which lack any convenient flat geometry at bottom. With ingenuity, the lift can be used (along with that handy center stand) for many bike servicing tasks. I've even used the lift to maneuver 400lb landscaping rocks, without requiring neighbor favor equity or trips to chiropractor. But alas I cannot comment on the device's ability to hoist the paunch of a "man of substance", when toe inspection or specific personal hygiene tasks are deemed necessary.

Wouldn't the latter be referred to as a "man girdle"?Boxer wrote:Of course now we have this kind of Belly Lift...
