I've had it a little under four months. It's still my favorite possession ever. I've squeezed the last bit of life out of the original tires.

In the first 24 hours, I've only been able to put 169 miles on my new R1200 R. But after all, I have to keep varying the RPM's and have avoided constant speeds on highways...

Might get to 44k tomorrow.. but I've been slacking off 'cause of my tires (ridges in them). Hit them with the belt sander today, went for a ride - it's nice having round profiles again. Also replaced the sluggish O2 sensor that was causing a crappy idle, and ended up also curing the strange periodic drone in 5th gear that has bugged me for at least 35,000 of the last miles on the bike, and a slight surge it had at low RPMs. Thank Dog for the GS-911.. pointed me right to it once I went looking for it.

If you pulled 10 K mi. out of the original rubber, you've not been enjoying yourself very much
Just kidding of course

That's some mileage! I just reached 20,000 miles on Friday of which 11,000 are mine. I needed 18 months for that.

Then without question, they are worn out

You will have a new bike on your hands when you have the ole skins replaced.

I'm expecting about 25K during the first year with it. More if I can manage to get fired from my job.

My clock reads 9930 miles as of today. I bought it August 2009. Hopefully this week I'll hit the 10K mark.
