t Ztechnik windishield and Aeroflow tanks wing, aerogaurds

Post by cswett »

Hello, I'm looking for max protection and quiet behind a windshield of my r1150r, and Aeroflow gets raves, but there are issues using their mounting system with bar backs/risers. I was thinking about the tall Ztechnik....

.....paired with the tank wings or aeroguards == has anyone used this combo? Looks aren't important, but quiet is. I don't even mind looking through the shield -- I had a big National Cycle shield on my K75 and had to look through it, but still loved it.
What do the tank wings and aeroguards accomplish? I can't quite figure it out from their website.
Also, Ztechnik has a ride & buy program where I guess you can try the shield and return it if you aren't happy. Not sure about a restocking charge, though. Anyone used this program?
Finally, does anyone know what risers/bar backs work well with the Aeroflow shield?
Thanks

I have the Aeroflow shield with barbacks and it was no problem to mount. In fact I now have one set of barbacks atop another and still use the Aeroflow. You just have to find some longer bolts. I can't recommend the Aeroflow shield/tank wing setup enough! it is absolutely marvelous. Buffeting is a thing of the past and the weather protection is equal to or better than the two RTs I previously owned. I think the tank wings would probably help with any shield. I had a Parabellum shield with the tank wings originally and they eliminated most of the buffeting, but the Aerolofow shield is better. I would call Paige Ortiz at Aeroflow and discuss the barback mounting. I know he has pictures of my bike and at least one other on which that has been done.
