Storage for XL full face helmet?

I'm looking for a solution to storing my XL full face Shoei helmet, and I'm pretty sure I've seen some people store them in system cases. I've got city cases on my cycle, and am wondering if the change to regular case lids (or even the XL case lids) will do the trick. I just hate toting it with me, but right now I don't have a good alternative. Any suggestions? I also don't have a rack on back for a topcase... and I suppose that is always an option, but I'd rather get normal size side cases first... it just looks better in my opinion. Any thoughts/ideas?

Your helmet will probably not fit in a side case. Your best bet is a top case. My old helmet fit in my smallish top case fine. My newer helmet won't, so you'll want to check. I use the helmet lock on the side of the bike along with a lock extender.
