A backup to our flaky fuel sensor strips that has become habit for me is to reset the trip computer at every fill-up. If I've been commuting downtown, I look for gas after 150 miles.

I haven't had a problem with my fuel gauge yet, but I still make it a habit of resetting trip meter at every fill up. I've had far too many faulty fuel gauges in my vehicles for me to rely on them. :smt076
