Metzler Z6 Interact

My R came with Metzler Z6 tires. I got about 6K miles on the rear and 7.5K on the front. Not good, but acceptable. I replaced them with the new and "improved" Z6 interact. The performance was similar to the earlier tire, but at 2700 miles the rear was gone. This is not even close to acceptable. What kind of mileage are others getting with the Metzler Z6 Interact?
Also I learned that the Z6 Interact is not a dual compound tire, but rather the center is impregnated with something that is supposed to make it wear longer.
I just replaced front and rear with the Michelin Pilot Road 2. The Z6 front with 1200 miles is still good but I don't like to mix tires.
