Exclusively for Italy, said on website. However, I saw one in Japan; I bought it. I love the touch screen, easy to use and came with English/Japanese language. It locked up on me twice without doing anything fancy and I returned for a new one each time. If it locked up one more time (within 3 months), I will return for a refund.
Did anyone experience with Nuvi (any models) lock up? Not boot up or frozen on touch screen.

I don't have a "nuvi" unit, I have a much older, primitive Garmin unit. I am a little unclear about what is meant by "lock up". Mine would totally crash, I would have to disconnect my hard wire power (and remove the back-up batteries). After doing that, the unit would turn on and work. The crashes got more frequent until it would crash almost immediately when I started moving. I was about to give up and buy a newer model. I ended up downloading a software update, and the problem was solved, and I have had no problems since. Garmin does a great job giving of updates and debugging through the internet. I would guess that there are instructions for installing updates in the manual. You might want to try to hook it up to your computer, and install any updates before taking it out on a ride. The software that is installed at the factory may already need such an update.

Lock up:
Since it is a touch screen, it would not do anything (hours) as I touch it. When I turned it off and turn it on again; it got to Garmin Logo and turn off. Not boot up with battery fully charged. After exchanged, I got to the 2nd one to work almost two weeks. Last night, the touch screen frozen again. Turned off and Turned on, it got to Menu screen and frozen. I took it back to the store and they gave me another one.
I will try disconnect power, remove battery if it freeze up on me again. I also try to contact Garmin on this problem. Since this model was offered to Italian market and Japanese market (not in US), there must be some bugs.
thanks.

My 2008 Nuvi 205 (the cheap one) hasn't crashed yet.
A lot of electronic devices have a watchdog to power the device off if it's not responding. It's usually triggered by holding the power button for several (5 or 10) seconds. It's worth a try if it happens again.

I am finally received a response from Garmin HQ, Taiwan; they told me to contact their sales rep.in Japan (
http://www.iiyo.net). I am using the third replaced unit now; it is working well. If this one goes south on me, I will get my money back.
thanks.
