I grew up in Vermont and its where I store my bike in the winter.
Every year I pick up the bike and bring it to Boston to use as my daily commuter and for some quick weekend trips.

I cherish my travels in Vermont though.
The state truly is the jewel of New England. Great scenery, friendly folks, fun roads and few cars.

My favorite three hour route is 108 to 100 to 17. It's twisty roads through the mountains and past ski resorts.
Below are a few pictures....I tend to ride more than I take photos, but I have a few shots that give the barest hint of the flavor of the ride.

If any of you are ever in the area, let me know. I'd be happy to show you the roads or at least help plan a route if I can.

I like the picture of the rocks in the road in Smugglers Notch. I've never had time to stop for a picture when I went through there and it's hard to explain that road. I'm going to steal that picture. Vermont is my favorite State East of the Mississippi, I'm still working on my favorite Western State. Did you ever do Hurricane Mountain Road off of 16 north of North Conway, NH? I put that in the same category as Rt108 - a road you just can't go fast on.

Great pics and a great-looking bike. Definitely need to add Vermont to the someday/maybe list.

Great photos. I grew up in New England and love the riding there. I find it's very much the same as the Smokey's I enjoy so much today. Thanks for posting the report.

It's funny....I thought I got them from Santa Cruz BMW, but I don't see them there.

Every year in Boston I find the bike laying on its side. The OEM plastic covers shattered twice so I went the expensive carbon fiber route.
If you look closely, the left cover is scratched from the last time I found Betty lying on her side.
Scratched, but not broken thankfully...

Never heard of Hurricane Mountain Road, but I'm definitely going to check it out....thanks for the tip.

the CF covers.....Max had them for about half that advertised in the ON mag a month or so ago. you should check with them

Thanks for the pics.I was on the 108 last wk-nd but not thru the Notch.Coming from the Cdn side of the border,Vt has been a favorite. Bike looks great..Love those mirrors...looking at Napoleons at the moment but yours look better. Source???

Great pictures! Enough to make me homesick. Actually I was home this past weekend, which is Framingham, MA. My wife is a native of Colebrook, NH, way up north near the Canadian border. Her father always used to say that he preferred driving along the Connecticut River on the Vermont side because that way when he looked at the view he was looking at New Hampshire. It is all good. One of my favorite rides is to circumnavigate Lake Champlain, and if there is time around Lake George, too, for good measure. The whole area including VT, NH, western Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and the Hudson River Valley, the Catskills, and the Adirondacks is just awesome. One of the great areas to ride a motorcycle or a bicycle.
