FYI: the Genmar bar risers part# X102. Works on 2004 r1150r. I just did it today. You have to cut some of the wire ties but there is just enough line. The only trick I found was do not tighten any part down until you have all the screws started.

Hope this helps,
Dan...
ps. Love the site and has helped me out already. (I have only had my r1150r for a week.)

I'm glad that the risers provided what you wanted......unbeknowns to you, by cutting the ties, you have preempted another potential annoying problem. It appears that during assembly at the factory the ties behind and under the head weere drawn too tight and with the movement of the handlebars the ties would flex the wiring inside the sheath to the point of breakage.

This would manifest with gremlins like not being able to start the bike unless the handlebars are move, along with intermitent operation of other functions controlled from the handlebar.

So since your ride is one week old, I suggest you go back and cut all ties, they can be replaced, but don't snug them. Do a search on the subject......

Congrats on your new ride and welcome aboard, a picture of your ride is the next order of business.

Why use the same old plastic tie wraps? Why not use small Velcro straps. They would provide a wider area of contact and you can regulate the amount of tension so as not to over tighten. I'm just sayin.
