All,
Just to let everyone know, the Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic has some slots open for an upcoming class in Maryville, TN that I recently signed up for (March 21). It's pretty far for one day (~4hrs from here), but it's supposed to be good (I hope). If any one of you happen to be there, I look forward to meeting you!
More info and all the clinic location and dates are here:

Re: Total Control Riding Clinic
All,
I attended the Total Control Riding Clinic this past Saturday in Maryville, TN. First off, it was a lot of fun! We had a small class (7 people) with two instructors, so there was plenty of one-on-one time. Wayne and Dave were the instructors and they where both very knowledgeable and great to work with. We basically covered an abbreviated version of the Total Control book, with rider training mixed in. The class was from 8am-6pm, and pretty much everybody was close to exhaustion by the end (one rider even sat out the last two exercises).
The classroom lessons touched on trail-braking, concentration, fear, cornering techniques, cornering lines, turning points, and suspension adjustments.
The riding consisted of trail-braking, eliminating abrupt throttle and braking inputs, weight shifting to improve ground clearance for cornering, picking turning points, and looking far ahead a turn (in a 40ft circle, we had to focus on the cones 180 degrees from where we were). Most of what we did focused on our vision and looking ahead.
There was a wide range of bikes (2 BMWs: my r1150r and a K1200, an SV650S, a WeeStrom, a nasty Ducati HyperMotard, some Honda Sport Touring bike, and a FZ6). The instructors were riding a Hayabusa, incidentally.
I've been riding for ~8 years and this was my first formal class. I mostly enjoyed the riding portion and it was challenging, and put you in a slight uncomfort zone, but that's how you learn (according to them)! I don't have much I can compare the course to, but many others had taken other classes and thought very highly of this one.
