Hi, folks,

Just wondering, when did you first start seeing your "Service me!" light / indicator appear on your R12R?

I've had mine for just over a year now (so should be due for the annual....) and it's got about 5000 miles on since the break-in service (so should be due for the next oil change....) but there's no little indicator coming up.

Good roads,

I don't think there is a light.

Just the light in your head saying....remember to take it in and spend some money....

Page 22, Rider's Manual (US Model) R 1200 R:
Service display
If the time remaining until the next service lies within a month, the service date is briefly displayed following the pre-ride check. The month and year are shown with two and four digits respectively and separated by a colon. In this example the display means "March 2007".

If the motorcycle is driven long distances annually it is possible that earlier service is required. If the odometer reading for the earlier service lies within 600 miles (1000 km), the remaining miles (kilometers) are counted down in 60-mile (100-km) steps and briefly displayed following the pre-ride check.

If the service interval has been exceeded, the general warning light also lights up yellow in addition to the date or mileage display. The Service lettering is displayed continuously.
So, yes, technically it's a light only if it's overdue. Still, I would expect the service warning by now, but ... nothing.

Let me ask again if folks recall having seen this, and if so, whenabouts?

Thanks,

- Lewellen

I got the 'service' warning by the odometer for the 6k service but that was after having the bike for 5 months. This is an 08' model. My 07' model didn't have that feature.
