Headlight Reflection in Windshield?

Recently, for the first time, against my preference and better judgement, I rode my bike for a couple of hours after dark. The light picked up from my own headlight and reflected in the small sport shield was annoying, distracting and undoubtedly further compromised my already not-so-great night vision. The reflection was far brighter than the soft glow from the instrument cluster and GPS. Does anyone else have a problem with their bike's headlight being reflected in their windshield?

Examining the relationship of the sport shield and headlight in daylight, it is not apparent why/how the effect is as pronounced as it is. Though I generally avoid riding at night, I think I will experiment with using a piece of tape on the upper rim of the headlight or lower edge of the shield to see if that could be used as temporary solution when necessary.

Any thoughts?

No help to you but I find the reflection in the screen of my R1150R reassuring. My bulb is still working!
Not a problem to me at night as it is pretty dim compared to the light on the road.
Experimenting with tape/black foam in the gap seems a good idea.

I don't drive much at night . I have noticed the reflection but not to an annoying degree.

I have not noticed the windshield problem. My BMW tankbag is annoying because of reflected light in the daytime. I use it only when necessary.

How does your BMW tankbag reflect light? I have never noticed that and never go anywhere without mine.

Yes riding at night is something that many hardened motorcyclists struggle with. I find it particularly difficult to get home after work every day when I find that, once again, the sun has dipped below the horizon.

I find that the annoying reflections from the sportscreen can be cured witha liberal application of a product called "Harden The Truck Up".

Apologies for the sarcasm but this site is becoming more like a creche and/or retirement home every day.

I can see some reflection of the headlight in the sport screen, not to a degree where its distracting.

I try to focus my attention on where I want to go, and scan the area where danger may be lurking.

Good luck to all!

tank bag
The sunlight hits the map pocket cover. I know what it is everytime it happens but I look anyway. It isn't a big deal.
