BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

I’m new to this site and I need your help with a measurement.

Explanation: I have a Bigfoot motor home with a short garage on the side. Look here: http://www.rvt.com/picture.php?ad_id=12 ... 1789_1.jpg for a picture of a similar unit. Since my r1150gs is too tall to fit and I love the boxer motor, I was thinking a r1150r/r1200r with no windshield or mirrors ( maybe swing down bar end mirrors) would fit. I only have about 46 ½ inches to play with.

With the bike upright on its wheels could someone please give me the height measurement of a R1150R and/or a R1200R (excluding the mirrors or windshield). I’m thinking the instrument pod or master cylinder would be the highest point. I’m trying to see if I could roll one of these in and clear the door. Thanks in advance for your help!

I put mine on the center stand and measured to the top of the IP and got 46 and 3/4".
With it on the center stand, the front wheel is on the ground.
The highest point w/o mirrors for me is the brake reservoir, but I have the Verholen bar risers so YMMV.

Thanks for the quick reply. It looks like the r1200r might be a little tight or at best very close. I guess one could be tried to fit at a dealer before I buy ( live pretty far away and usually buy used). It looking like the r1150r is a bit shorter. Thanks again for the info it was a big help.

If you really want an r1200r you can make it fit. Lower the air pressure in the front tire!

It's going to be a tight fit. I just went out and measured mine (I too, have Verholen bar-backs), and with the mirrors and windscreen removed, I'm just over 46.5 inches. Without the bar backs, I'd probably get a half-inch, but that wouldn't leave much room for maneuvering the bike as you load it.

Hi all, thanks for your help and suggestions. The front tire pressure idea just might work. I'm hoping a dealer would let me try to roll the bike in before I buy. Thanks again!
