Mounting a Zumo 450 GPS

Post by ErikM »

OK I've ben searching the archives but still can't quite find what I'm looking for, so here goes. I'm getting a Zumo 450 for fathers day, I'd like to mount it over the handle attachment bolts. I won't be using a tank bag , so I'd rather have it there than on the handle bars. I think I need the BMW cable that goes into the plug , Anyone know the part # ? Also what actual mount can I use that attches to those mounting points? I found this on max BMW's web site http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/ ... spid=49569 part # 71607700742 can I use this mount? Thanks for any and all help.

Erik,

I believe Zumo uses a direct bar mount, which might work with the R12R bars.. The mount BMW sells for the Nav-ii/iii - mounts over the handebar mounting bolts:

I believe the Zumo cradle will bolt up to this.. I think it uses the standard 4 screw mount pattern other Garmin mounts use. I know the 2720/2610 Garmin cradle mounts right to it (BTDT)..
