Help Needed! Ignition Cut off by Pulling on Wiring Harness

I think I have a problem with a broken wire or a loose connection in/with the ignition. The ignition will cut itself off (totally no electrical power) when I tuck, pull or push the cable wiring harness on the left, under the instrument cluster.

Is this a common problem? Mine's a 96 R1100R with 27k miles. I noticed that the left signal on display on the instrument cluster goes off and on depending on how I pull on the handle bars left and right.

Has anyone replaced a new set of complete wiring harness?

Thank you,

I have to mention that I have sprayed some WD-40 into the ignition key hole.

Could the WD-40 affect the contact of the ignition switch?

if anything, wd40 should help with electrical contacts. i spray some into all swithes every now and then and they are ok. of course, wd40 also dissolves dirt etc, so in case the cables/contacts were held together by some remains of ducktape or something, it could have made them loose.
