I had originally blocked 15 rooms at the Ozark Motel in Ozark, Arkansas for Oct. 10-12, 2008 (Columbus Day Weekend) for a Fall Bash on the great roads in Arkansas.

However, I will most likely be working out of the country during those dates. I called Joan at the motel and asked about other open weekends for a group our size. The only other weekend available is Oct. 24-26. There is a strong possibility that I will be out of the country during that time as well.

So .......... unless someone would like to step up and organize a Fall Bash in Arkansas for either Oct 10-12, or Oct 24-26, I will be calling Joan on Wednesday, May 14, and asking her to release the rooms. I need to tell her something by 5:00 on Wednesday of this week. Please contact me if you would like to take over the organization of the Fall Bash. PM or gypsyrr at gmail dot com.

Sorry about the change in dates. I know everyone loved the Arkansas roads last year and more could enjoy them this year. However, I need the work. Please let me know asap, so I can notify Ozark Motel what has been decided.

Well, I for one DO want to have a Fall Arkansas Bash, and am willing to do what I can to make it happen. I would sure need some help though. On the surface it doesn't seem like there is much to do, but I bet that's not true.

Regarding dates: The later date (Oct 24-26) 1) fits my schedule MUCH better, and 2) seems like the best choice even if it only means we might have the pleasure our fearless leader (GypsyRR) being in attendance.

We need to have a discussion about this ASAP as Wednesday, May 14 is the decision date. Let's hear from some folks.

Do not change the date. Too many people have already made plans based on the Columbus Day weekend, and Joan has been holding rooms for us. Dave, you are now in charge, and I'm glad that you stepped in to help make this happen. It will be another great Bash!

Let us keep it. Dave, you are the one to handle it(we have great faith in you) and I for one plan on being able to ride by then(God willing).

Well, two of (about) 20 attendees of last years Fall Bash have weighed in... THANKS GUYS! Anyone else have an opinion about the decisions that have to be made?

Vickie and I would not be able to make the Oct. 24-26 date, as we would not have someone to watch our son over that weekend. So we would prefer to keep it on the Columbus Day weekend too.

Dave, understanding your situation of not being able to be there on the original dates, I can help with plans and promotions as well.

I would be available for a earlier date. It gets colder earlier up here.

I talked to the Ozark Motel this evening, and told them wewill be keeping the original dates of October 10-12, 2008 for the BMW Bash in Ozark, Arkansas. You can start making reservations anytime.

I'll still be helping organize things pre-Bash, and then hand it off to those who have volunteered to help out and see things through in Ozark, Arkansas.

Not sure I can make either date, that's why I haven't booked a room yet. I'd say I'd be more likely to make the later date, but if it happens over Columbus Day, well, I'll try to make that. I'll know as the summer progresses whether I'll have any more time off this year and also how my travel budget is holding up. So I guess this is a vote for "doesn't matter". I'll keep tabs on the thread and if I can make it, I'd love to hook up with everyone again.

October is a long ways away.
I could make either date but prefer the warmer weather like Steve said -plus- the original date has the Monday federal holiday. That warmer weather really helps the riders from the North and it makes both the morning group ride departure and late ride return that much more enjoyable.

Oh - and CycleRob - glad you are coming again. You have 123 and 374 memorized - you need to lead a group on that route again and again and again and again and again...................

I plan to attend, unless some work issues take priority, haven't asked Buddy or some of my other rider friends. Duckdave, I'll be happy to give you a hand, from afar and with the little knickknacks that e normally raffle during the group dinner on Saturday.

Sorry I'm late in responding....I'm happy with the dates that have been chosen and hope to meet up with the group. Sorry that Gypsy won't be joining us.
