Backrests

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a passenger backrest.
I know there is the rear luggage case which I can purchase from BMW, but it's a little pricy...
I would like to be able to put on the backrest when I go out with a passenger, and then remove it when I'm on my own.
I too like the "Naked" look.

Are there any other options that fit our bikes?
I have scanned the internet; however, I can't find anything for R.
Lots of stuff for the R1150R, but not our bikes...

I share your exact sentiments. The only option I have found is the $700+ corbin seat configuration that was recently released. Also very pricey.

I also don't want to install the luggage rack to maintain the naked look of the bike. I am every interested to hear what suggestions come in.

I have further info regarding hard top cases...

Called Givi and got the part numbers for the top case bracket and top case
Top case bracket part number: 076-FZ688 $168.00 Canadian + Tax
Recommended the V46 Top Case: $400.00 + 80.00 (backrest pad) + 60.00 for the light: Canadian + Taxes

Side Cases:

Givi Bracket part number: 076-PLX688: $220.00 Canadian + Taxes
Only Case Available: V35 $600.00 Canadian + Taxes

Here is the Givi Link....

So still wondering if there is just a plain old backrest available for about $200-300????

Oh and I'm not crazy about the "Top Box" idea.
I just found this info, so I thought I would pass it on...

May want to contact them... http://www.sargentcycle.com/stealthrest.htm

They say on their site R1200R "coming Summer 08" http://www.sargentcycle.com/bmw.htm

Dunno is they'll just be selling the backrest but it might be worth a try contacting them.
