BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

I just pulled the schedule http://www.ascycles.com/bmw_motorcycle_ ... dules.aspx for the R12R and have a question.....

I see changing oil in rear-wheel drive (I assume this means final drive) at 600mi service......I do NOT see it in 6000mi, 12000mi or annual service.....am I missing something?

For a while BMW said that the final drive was lifetime sealed, no change required. Now they recommend it only at the 600 mile service. I'll be changing mine when I change the tranny fluid. I haven't heard of any final drive failures on the R1200R yet and hopefully that will continue to be the case.
