Ok...... Need a little advice on this one.
My 2007 R runs great.
Just one problem...
A little hard on the butt and "Boys"

Reading through this forum, I have come across 2 products

Some of us have used the above, and just looking for your thoughts.

My butt gets a little sore, but I need relief where it counts.....

A new seat would be nice, but for now let's compare seat cushions.

I've used and reviewed both. I still own the FreedomAir. The AirHawk is the original. It has IMHO - one flaw. When I got it - I was having lots of butt pain on my R1150RS. The Airhawk helped with the butt pain, but transferred it to another part of my anatomy - sort of directly forward so to speak. The "boys" as you call them were not at all happy.

The pain it caused there was as bad or worse than the butt pain.

The FreedomAir is designed to avoid this. There is a strategically placed cutout in the cushion. This is to avoid crushing the boys. It also uses two valves, and splits the air chambers down the center of the bike. This eliminates the rocking motion I found annoying on the Airhawk.

About the same price - I'd vote for the FreedomAir. Like I said - I still own that one. I sold the Airhawk on Ebay. I carry the FreedomAir with me on longer trips, and use it when I expect to be riding more than 6 hours or so a day. It works.

You can find the Airhawk for less than $150 if you look...
I haven't tried the Freedom balls, I mean Air... but my Airhawk has been essential for the 32,000 miles I have on my bike, with a few Iron Butt rides so I vote for it. If it didn't work for me I would I would have pursued something else like the Freedom.
I think this is one of those things you just have to try out for yourself, flip a coin, buy one of em' just be sure to get it from somewhere you can return it to...

Just tried out my Air Hawk for the first time the other day. Difference between it and the stock seat is night and day. The boys never complained.

I suspect the R12R seat is much better suited to the AirHawk than the RS seat was. The RS seat was pretty much a saddle shape which even by itself would tend to crush the privates. With the AirHawk is was unbearable. The FreedomAir seems to work well on either seat.
