At Last
At long last my black R1200R is here. After a long 4-1/2 months, which included the delivery of a 2007 R, passed off as my 08, tank bag ordered for a KR instead of an RR, I have actually seen it, touched it, and have checked the VIN, and all the other options to make sure they were actually on the bike. Also ordered a BOS carbon, oval can, which should be here in two weeks. Take delivery of the bike next week, just as the weather in CT is starting to look good.

I look the LT out with the S/O on Saturday (yes, the R12R was home alone...
Searched for about 500km - but could not find a single trace of this "white stuff" you are going on about

Congrats on your new bike. I'm sure you will love it!

Re: At Last
r1200rforme will be enjoying the new machine, long before mine comes out of storage!
Just a little "white stuff"

The heap on the end is covering about half a dozen parking spots.
And the temperature is up to a balmy -3C or 27F

Re: At Last
Couple of things, First r1200rforme congratulations on the new rig, you'll be spoiled quickly. Second, may I ask where you are getting your BOS can? I think it's about the coolest looking one out there but I thought they were not being sold in the US.
Third, hoonu, search BOS on the forum and you'll find pictures of skippy's bike with the BOS can

Re: At Last
BOS was $529.
I guess I was a bit premature about riding the bike home from the dealer last week. Now it seems that they cannot give me a sales order because the VIN, for some reason, has not been loaded into the BMW system. Not bad afer waiting for 4 1/2 months for it to get here. On top of that, Progressive says we cannot give you our best rate because of something in you credit history! I inquire and, if you can believe this, the answer was, I failed to establish credit early enough in life. The ideal age is 18-20,my history says 26! I am now 63 with perfect credit. WTF, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They waived that little detail and reduced my premium. Oh,wait, there is another blurb about an at fault accident, and look it happened on March 17th 2008, last week!!! I explained that I most certainly did not have an accident last week or any other week for that matter. Another reduction in premium. At the rate I'm going I will recieve the BOS before the bike.

Re: At Last
r1200rforme; Progressive pulled the same stunt on me recently. I immediately pulled a credit report from Experian, the report they use, and it said "your credit ranking is better than 97.13% of U.S. consumers". I fired off an email asking Progressive if they only offer their best rates to 2.87% of the population. They replied that I needed to call them at some special number for consultation. Amazing what BS insurance companies pull in the name of profit.r1200rforme wrote: Progressive says we cannot give you our best rate because of something in you credit history!
Congratualtions on the R1200R. It is without a doubt the best bike I've ever ridden, you will enjoy it.

Call 800-604-6119. American Modern Insurance Group. If they write in CT - you'll find them about 1/2 the cost of Progressive. Good service too according to my friend who crashed his '07 GS..r1200rforme wrote:BOS was $529.

Re: At Last
Just to make it more confusing they don't all look at your credit history in the same way. When I checked my history I found no negitives so I had to call Progressive to find out what was going on. My premium dropped by almost half after correcting the two "problems". Not all companies use credit history to set premium's, however if they do, find out what facts they use to determine premium's and check your history to make sure there are no errors. I bet more and more will use this method in the future, any angle to gain the upper hand and reduce the chance they will have to payout.
