Two days since I own the bike and I'm already looking for accessories
I've been through the board reading a lot about windshields but till now i've not decided yet. I'm 1,70 mt (about 5 ft 7 in if i'm not wrong). I don't like high windshields but I need something that gives me some protection. Z Technic is nice but I'm afraid is too high for me and then I somewhere red that to install it you need to replace the brake line (which I don't like to).
Anyone of you has any suggestion I regularly commute to work (all year) and have some short range trip (for now ).
Did anyone know about the original BMW windshield? Do they have different high? is anyone using it?

I'm 185cm and have the "touring" or "tall" BMW screen. It puts the airflow about the middle of my chest and leaves my helmet in clear air. I find it quite comfortable, even in the summer, as the helmet vents are in moving air. You may want to try the "sport" screen or something about that size.

I've also tried a tall (20"/51cm) Cee Bailey screen, but that put the airflow right in my faceplate.
One advantage of the Cee Bailey screens is that they use the stock BMW touring/tall mounting hardware.

Windshield's are a very subjective topic.... All I can say without a doubt is that I have a Z screen and bar back's and I didn't have to change the brake line....
I don't have the same kind of bar backs as the members that had to replace the line so I can't comment on that.
I'm 5'11" and doubt that you would be looking through the screen. I have a BMW "touring screen" and while I think it looks nice, and I did like it, it doesn't offer enough protection for me. The wind hits me in the chin, and some of my chest and shoulders. For the amount of miles I ride in every kind of weather year round, it just doesn't cut it for me. YRMV.
The good thing about the Z screen verses the BMW is the price. It's less than half the price, so if you try it and don't like it would hurt much less....
Picking out a screen is like buying gloves without ever trying them on, you can read all you want about it, but everyone's different and you just won't know until you try...
Today it was finally just above freezing and sunny in Chicago, and I went for a 4 hour ride. I was glad I had the Z screen on....

How much do you want for the BMW Touring Windshield? Does it come with the frame? I would need the frame. MAybe it's just too early but the PM on this board is beyond me right now. Not intuitive.
