Electric vest wiring...

...or lack thereof. I don't want to pull the tank to hardwire my new electric vest just yet but have been using it on my Pegaso, am thoroughly addicted and it's mighty chilly around here lately.
I'm a little uneasy about plugging it in to the power outlet as it's just a ways above and behind the peg/shifter and don't like the idea of potentially getting tangled up.
Is anyone using a vest plugged in rather than wired to the battery? Any concerns, troubles or routing suggestions?

I run the wire from the power socket up under the seat. It keeps it taut and well out of the way when shifting.

I have done the same (routed under the seat) I have very little experience with the jacket yet but I don't forsee a problem. At some point when I next pull the tank I will make the wiring permanent with the supplied harness that came with my jacket (warm-n-safe). Just for the sake of neatness.

I ran a fused connection straight to the battery (both +ve and -ve connectors), with the "thermostat" (mine is a Chilli vest) double-sided-taped to the airbox and a standard power socked mounted in the plastic liner of the LHS oil cooler housing.
On re-reading this, I better get a photo uploaded!
Works fine, as you'ld expect, but the mounting of the power socket is so much better than down by your foot.

I run mine off the accessory plug all the time. No worries about getting tangled up especially since it pulls right out of there is a problem. The stock length is perfect too.

Mine plugs right in to the powerlet socket and I've had no problems with it. I tuck the cord between the seat and the tank and it's out of the way. Only problem I had was when I forgot to unplug it as I got off the bike and it kind of spun me around when I tried to walk away. No damage to anything though!

I wired mine into the battery this weekend with the supplied harness that came with my jacket. I wanted to keep the accessory socket open for my heated coffee mug.

Worked like a charm, no problems at all. Except now the warmest time of the day is on the bike

Mine is wired via a relay & switch directly to the battery.
Push-switch is mounted inside the RHS bar-guard for instant access with my index finger.

I use the installed plug for gloves or vest. I think there's a lot of excess capacity there, I've never heard of anyone overloading it to the point of blowing the fuse. I would like to have a plug in the back for the passenger's vest. Has any of you made a y-connector to plug into the bikes harness, of anything of the sort ?
