Ordering parts to Canada

Since our dollar is at an all time high  I think this would be a great time to order parts from the US. I was wondering if anyone has ordered anything from A&S Cycles to Canada and if there were any issues or any unpleasant surprises like duty charges or DHL or FEDEX "special extra charges"...

If you are willing to wait an extra week to 10 days (two - three weeks total) then USPS/CanadaPost is about the best way to go. Most of the courier services (DHL, UPS, FedEx etc.) use their own customs brokers at a, sometimes, substantial extra cost ($25 - $50 depending on value etc.) . The Post Office charges $5. :)

My last shipment, from Twisted Throttle, was properly marked as 'motorcycle accessories' and was charged no duty, no excise tax, but was charged for GST on the $CDN value.

Things through the Post Office will probably be slower as Christmas approaches. But the courier services won't be unaffected either.
