First trip to the US

Well I just got back from my first ever visit to the USA. Unfortunately it was business rather than pleasure but I had a bit of time to look around Hyannis where I was staying and made a few new friends who I will keep in touch with. Have to say my experience was made very enjoyable by the friendly people I met who were so polite and helpful and did everything they could to make me feel welcome.
I found a few Harley owners at the conference and it was great to swap bike stories over beer in the bar with the baseball on the telly!

It couldn't have been the USA you landed in. There is no way you could have enjoyed the beer.

The beer is OK if you like that kind of thing but I think the heat and humidity would have made it impossible to drink stronger stuff! Cold and wet is the best that could be said!
DJ Here's one pic! The only disappointment was that the hotel food, though delicious, was not very generously dished up. I was given to believe that the portion sizes would be huge...
Spotted on the dock at Hyannis Harbour, Harbor...complete with small puddle under there as well.

Chris, I would have to agree about the beer. When it is hot, I do not want a heavy beer, I want something cold and wet. As the temps drop my beer selection increases.
Next trip needs to involve a motorcycle, and West Virginia. You will want to move there the riding is so good.

I did get a decent pint in the British Beer Company on Main St hyannis, complete with foamy head!
As far as moving to the US, I did get a job offer to work at Long Beach City College...next to the PCH I understand. Could be tempted in a few years when my kids are settled.
There is an lnternational motorcycle research conference who a friend writes for who and has asked me to contribute, so I may get to ride a bike over there and that might seal the deal for me!
