New to this forum, but I have been checking it for a while. I bought my first BMW, a 2003 R1150R Piemont Red. The bike only had 7300 Km on it and I have to say that I am more than impressed with it. I got my first great comment today. As I was leaving work, a guy and his girlfriend stopped to check the bike. The guy was certain that it was new. When I told him it was four years old, he almost flipped. The girlfriend said: "it's normal, it's a BMW!" Love it!
On to my question: Is anyone using the Brake and Shifter enlargement from Wunderlich : http://www.bmwsantacruz.com/Merchant2/m ... t_Count=47.
Coming from a cruiser, I find the stock shifter a little tiny...

Finally got it! + Question about shifter
"Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination."
got my 03 R11150R 2 years ago, used, but like new. 2 years later and 16K miles, still like new, and people often comment on the bike. how new it looks is common as well as "what are those big things sticking out the sides". gotta love being able to give a brief history of the engine. you know, airplanes, motorcycles, porsches, etc.
i have the brake extender only, i use the rear to trail brake and it is easy to find it and slip off it. i like the short shifter because the rubber grip on it gives me a solid feel when i shift. sometimes when i'm stopped, seated, and in neutral, i put down the side stand, my foot has it the gear shifter and knocked it into first. no real problem as the engine dies when the side stand is extened. it does remind me to be more aware.
