Honda is planning to recreate one of the greatest motorcycles it ever made, in the form of a new Honda CB750.
Having seen the success of other retro bikes like Triumph’s Bonneville, insiders say Honda has decided to make a modern recreation of the original 1969 Honda CB750, virtually identical in every way to the original.
According to sources in Japan, Honda has developed a new air-cooled engine to give the motorcycle the right retro looks and yet to pass the latest emissions laws. It’s likely Honda will show the motorcycle as a prototype at this October’s Tokyo Motor Show.

Unbelievable - I love it when Honda do stuff "just because we can", like VTEC variable valves (in cars only please), 4WS on the Prelude, the entire S2000 project, or the CBX-1000. I wonder how much ROI they'll get on a new air-cooled 750 - let's hope they put it in the new VFR as well ...

How cool is that!? As someone who was riding when the original appeared, I'm pretty stoked that Honda would do something like this!
What's next I wonder? Maybe this will start a trend...

We had 4 CB's in our family.
My brother had a 1970's CB350, and a '82 CB650 NH, I had a 1980 CB750 Custom (my first bike), and later a 1999 CB750 NH.
Honda can do no wrong reviving this Model/Engine. Too many owners, too much nostalgia, they will sell the units needed.

Thinking about old Hondas reminded me of this pic I meant to post after my holiday.
I saw this bike in the street in a small town near La Rochelle, France - it looks like a CBX1000 engine in a newer bike, but I've no idea what it is - but it's cool!

Yeah, that's a CBX motor alright. I should know, I owned an '82 - the pearl white one with the sport fairing and bags - for a bunch of years. Great bike, awesome engine. Wish I would've kept it. Friend of mine has 5 or 6 CBX's in his garage.
