Hey all.....

Since I have been riding now to work, I miss my XM radio that was in the
truck.

What have you all done to get a little music to the ride on those morning commutes?

Thanks for the input, I love this forum. :D

I have a XM Roady2 mounted on my handle bars using RAM Mounts, hardwired to the battery for power. Antenna is in plastic, and sits on the headlight. The entire setup removes in 30 seconds.

Before I got an AutoComm, I used Koss Volume control earbuds out of the Roady2.

Now have a Pro-M1 with Helmet speakers for rider and passenger.

Was the Autocom worth the money?

I have the Roady2 myself and didn't know what to use for
headphones or a system. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for
a comm system and never ride 2 up.

Anyone else find anything that works?...

I got the Autocom used, so it was worth it.

Use a pair of Skull Candy ear buds. 20-30 bucks at Staples or Best Buy.
The Roady2 does not come with a volume control. So your ear buds need one.

Check out cyclegadgets.com for mounting the Roady2 with RAM mounts and power supply.

XM radio is great. I used to have a Roady2 like Herb. (In fact, I'll sell you my old one for real cheap.)

Now I have a Garmin Zumo that has GPS, XM radio, and mp3 player all in one great gadget.

Here is what the Roady2 looks like on the bike. I listened with Etymotic er6i earphones and a Radio Shack in-line volume control. It worked very well.

If you want a low cost option for mounting, check out this link to a mount I made for about $1. I use this for long trips, and it works great.

I've had an XM SkiFi in the car since '02. Couldn't figure a way to use it on the bike. So I bought a MyFi, which I use at home and then put it in the Marsee tank bag (wired for power) when on the road, on the bike. The antenna, with a short wire, clings to the headlight but is invisible thanks to a smoke color sport windshield.

For sound, I used ear buds. The MyFi has volume control. Neat and clean.

There are less expensive solutions.

I rigged up a Sirius radio (made by X-Act) using a RAM mount:

The Sirius seems to lose signal more often than I like, so I alternate an I-Pod Nano in it's place, also using a RAM mount:

I bought a cheap car adapter for power and wired it up to my relay activated switched fuse panel:
