Anyone fitted one of these headsets - or similar - to a BMW System 5 helmet? I'm having trouble getting the clip inserted under the helmet lining  The helmet is new so naturally I don't want to damage anything... help appreciated :)

DJ! ...great to hear from you :D

My problem is not with the single speaker of the Cardo head-set but rather with the mounting of the bluetooth-boomset part. I can't get the clip under the helmet lining to secure it... just won't fit Ironically I'm not really interested in the boom mic part, I only want to be able to hear instructions from my new TomTom Rider 2. If the boom-mic was removeable then I'd remove it, although this has nothing to do with the mounting problem.

Figs 1 & 2 on page three in the following may give some idea of the fitment:

It's the design of the sytem 5 that's the problem  ...otherwise a great helmet!

I had to put a small slice into the lower pad to get the damn thing to fit .....

Thanks for replying zax 1150, and for the PM BTW... I've only just seen it!

The problem, as I see it, is not the removable neck pad but the thick, fixed black plastic moulding around the base... is this what you cut?

My sytem 5 is brand new (and over-priced IMO) and I'm pissed (off) to think that I need to butcher it in order to get the Scala-Rider to fit. Typical BMW, they want you to buy their own in-helmet communications equipment I guess.

In retrospect I wish I'd bought a Nolan... I know the Scala rider fits them. Unfortunately I bought the System 5 before I bought my TomTOm Rider2, which included the Scala-Rider in the box

Hi Cruiser. I have a Schuberth C2 helmet with the same black plastic moulding. I stubbornly tried fitting the scala rider in it and ended up disappointed. It's now screwed on nicely to my Zeus 508 helmet.

I'm going to attack my System 5 with a Dremel tonight!
