Second drain plug on R1200R

Hi everyone, I was changing the oil on my R1200R and I noticed a second drain plug next to the oil drain. There is also what appears to be a filler plug on the right side of the engine. Do any of you know what these are for?

Jim,
Maybe that's where they put the drain plug that should have been in the rear drive.

There are four avenues available
1. Leave it alone, if you have found the engine oil plug
2. Undo it and see what happens
3. Read the manual
4. Ask the BMW forum

If I took that plug out a spring would fly out and be lost under my wife's car then two ball bearings would follow and the transmission would no longer work. Get hypno-therapy to help you forget it is there.

That was exactly my thought Mark and that is why I asked the list instead of investigating on my own
