Just got my new Oxtar boots last night and commuted in with them today. I bought the Matrix-2 Gore-Tex. I found out that they make the boots for BMW and it seems that this boot is the BMW AllRound boot. Except for the BMW logo, these boots are identical to what I tried on in the dealer so I have to believe the information I was given.

They feel great right out of the box. Have to be careful to not velcro them too tight around my calves or the flap rubs annoyingly on my leg. Otherwise I'm happy with my short test ride so far.

Will have a better feel after the weekend when the wife and I take the bike out for the whole day on Saturday.

Glad to hear you are happy with the initial impression. I have some on order after a really horrible weekend co-teaching an ERC in my "new" Cruiserworks boots... they have a curve-in shape right at the toes where there is apparently a plastic insert that were giving me blisters on both big toes and to the point I had to go by some Harley tennis shoes so I could finish running the course! Ouch !

This is my second riding season in my Oxtars. I'm liking them a lot. Hope you find them pleasing, too.

I started a thread about the "Matrix 2" and "All around boots". It seemed that nobody else had bought the new models yet.

Is there any reason for your choosing the "oxtar" ones over the "bmw"? the bmw boots look to have Cordura ribs (on the front ankles) and the Oxtar ribs look to be leather. Is this correct?

not sure about the difference in ribs. The BMW boots were severely back ordered. In calling around I was told that Oxtar makes the boots for BMW. The Matrix-2 looks and feels exactly like the BMW allround boot. At least as much as I can recall from my one try-on in the dealer.

Also, I commuted in the other day with the boots on and wore them all day in the office. These easily have to be the most comfortable boots I've worn on and off the bike. I have never had a pair of boots that I wasn't complaining about by the end of a good stroll.

Their webite says they have 'em! I smell a present to me.

I tried on the BMW airflow boots because they didn't have the allround boot. The allround is what I wanted. I took a leap of faith and ordered the same size Matrix-2 (which I think is the exact allround boot). The size was dead on the same and contributes to the previously mentioned comfort.

I just got a pair today, (Oxtar not BMW) they are really comfortable straight out of the box and the front ribbing is leather and padded. They look well made and the leather is thick but supple. CE protection as well so for a measly £90 I'm well pleased.

I did buy the BMWs. I am happy with the comfort and impression so far is very good. The local dealer had my size in stock and on sale!

Wouldn't you know it, a day later 2 pair of Sidi On Roads (size 44!) were available on the the Buy/Sell forum.

My first ride, I missed a couple shifts (first time I can remember since buying the bike), dragged my left toes a couple of times in corners, and was a bit shaky coming to stops. I attribute all of it to rider negligence, not the boots. Still, it's strange how much a change of boots can alter ones riding.

I have only ridden once since then. The follow-up ride, with better concentration, all of the problems seem to have disappeared.

What do these boots go for, BMW or the matrix?
