I second that! I've been following this thread quietly for some time, and always walk away with awe and admiration for Randy's work. Randy you have more talent than most of the custom builder's out there. I can't wait to see this thing finished!

Can't wait to see the assembled creation!
Thanks for sharing the step-by-step process. Inspiration for those of us who ponder variations on the Boxer theme.
And after viewing the homebrew/eigenbau Boxer variants that DJ posted (
http://r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=3917), my brain's back-burner is boiling with ideas for an R1150 powertrain mounted in appropriate K75 or slash/something frame, with "modern" brakes and sport-spec 17" wheels/tires. Would you entertain a commission to work on such a machine?

I'm always open for new projects like that Mark. It depends on what your time frame is. This is probably my last project until I move FRS Engineering to it's new home. I have to spend the next 24 to 36 months concentrating on that move including finishing the project I'm on now. Keep in touch and share some of your ideas.

DJ, I grew up dreaming about Corvettes. I still love them and went out of my way to find that specfic crossed flags spinner to put on my wheel.
It's a good thing I'm not building it for you

I had some clearance issues with the 1150 pistons and the crankshaft. I finally got that resolved and put the engine back together. I polished the stainless pipes i made today and installed "Thunder Monster" baffles. Pipes are installed and if they sound good, I will add a crossover pipe between them.

Picture this...me running back and forth with the oil containers and gas bottle. Checking all the visible nuts and bolts...did I forget anything? Is the battery charged enough? My neighbors standing around tapping their feet...when are you gonna start it, they say.
OK...OK...everybody stand back. Push the choke lever halfway and press the starter button and:
IT'S ALIVE!!
It started right up...
It's loud as hell and
I love it!!

RChop...
Ya' know, it is absolutely impossible for me to express the respect and admiration I have for your skills. I have been watching and reading about this project all along the way and every time I look at another step you take my jaw just drops open one more time...
You are not just an incredibly talented artist and superb craftsman, but a true inspiration as well.
My hat is off to, sir. I cannot wait to see this bike completed, and I hope it ends up on the cover of a magazine some where. You more than deserve it.
Sincerely;
Dallara
