LANDSCAPE FORMAT (WHEN YOU SAVE YOUR PHOTOS)
PHOTO SIZE TO BE 11.5 X 9 @ 200 ppi (SUITABLE FOR REGULAR CALENDAR FORMAT)
PHOTOS NEED TO BE SAVED AT A MAXIMUM FILE SIZE OF 7 MB FOR A JPG OR 4 MB FOR A PNG FILE.

So, a 2300px by 1800px landscape JPEG will be perfect.

If a person saves at this setting from their computer software (via Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, iPhoto, etc.) and then uploads to a photo share site (photobucket, flickr, picasa etc.) send Rocket the 'max size' link and it should be exactly what he needs.

Quick summary of the plan:

- Calendar website selected
- Photo formatting information provided in forum , above (thanks to those who helped with this)
- send your photos (or details where I can find them) to me on Personal Message Board on this forum
- Date for photos - ideally by 31st July please (or let me know if you need a bit more time)
- Expect we will have many more than 12 photos so will produce a couple of calendar versions or 2 consecutive years
- Compositon to be single photo of owners bike (looking for interesting and varied photo compositions. No pressure )
- May produce other calendar version using mixed composition (ie including group photos, farkle, ladies bikes ) depending on what is submitted, but the main focus is on owners bikes.
- Aim to get finished by mid August!

Don't know how you ride in those conditions. Breathable riding gear with lots of vents, ..and keep moving , I guess

Would be good to get some "group" phots especially if you bump into other forum members, and would be good if you are happy to share your photo highlights on your return. I've not been to a BMW Rally yet , so would be interested to get a glimpse from a visitors perspective.

My husband and I just got back from a weekend ride in the Sierras, in search for the perfect background shot. It started out hot. The R registerd 94 degrees at 8 a.m. Coming home today, it hit 104. Cooling scarves and vests are life savers.

I had high hopes for at least one good picture of the R. But the light on the beautiful mountain went flat this morning. What I got was less than optimal. But all is not lost. We did have a nice ride and camped in some beautiful country.

Would be interested to know more about the cooling gear. I really hate riding in the hot weather, but thats partly because I haven't sorted the right gear so far.

My cooling vest has a polymer embedded fabic that holds moisture for hours. I soak it in a vinyl bag for 10 minutes or so, and it'll stay wet for several hours.
I have the Hyperkewl Ultrasport Cooling Vest: http://www.imcoolnow.com/vests-sport-cooling.htm.htm
It works when air flows through it. So it's best if you have some zippered vents in the front and back of your riding jacket.

My cooling scarf has little crystals that hold 400 times their weight in water. This website shows two sizes. The large model works the best.
