GypsyRR, I was hoping to finally meet you and chat with you about your photography. Your pictures are stunning.

Thanks for making me feel welcomed to attend, but I left 7/10 and just got back Saturday from a long camping/riding/fishing trip in the Rockies. There's no way I could turn around that quickly.

Home again! Nice ride over the mountains back to A-ville on some country roads. And a clean run from Shady Valley to Mountain City! And no rain!

It was a great weekend and hope everyone arrives back home safe.

I just made it home about a half hour ago. I left Marvin, C.A. and Roy at a gas station along 441 in north Georgia. I veered across 53 through Gainesville and took backroads to the house. We got a few drops of rain somewhere in Tennessee and then I got soaked 15 minutes from my house. It has been a long day!

well, we want to hear all about it. pictures too.

Another great weekend with great company. We filled loop C and I think kept the last site from being occupied since it was a bunch of "bikers" staying there. We had great weather while there; I think we are breaking the "Hungry Mother Rain Ride" theme of the weekend, not that I'm complaining! A co-worker of mine, Paul, came along and he too had a great time. Paul and I caught some hard downpours on the way there, and on the way home but I was willing to pay that price for a rain-free time in SW Virginia!

Paul and I made it home with a little water to help wash the bugs off, but otherwise a good uneventful ride. We took a good route from the campground (my traditional exit route) up 16 to 42. We got to route 100 and decided to aim the GPS to Covington for lunch. It routed me a little strange but I figured what the hell - I'll follow it (even though every other time I rely on pure GPS routing, it burns me). It took us on some AWESOME roads which were:
1. Clean
2. Twisty
3. ZERO TRAFFIC!
4. Great views of the valley we were going through
5. new pavement within the last two years (ie. no patchwork/potholes, etc)

It was like our own racetrack, but not a tight as 421/58/16 so we could really enjoy the road/views while still making good time on the way home. I found a new road to add to my "trips heading southwest" routing. A MUST RIDE section.

I'm sorry about my lack of pictures since I get too excited about the good roads and never stop for pics, but some others did so I'll have to wait until they post them. It was great to see familiar faces, and meet some new ones. As always, a great weekend! Thanks for everyone that came and I look forward to seeing you all again somewhere on the road! Ride safe everyone!
