I'm at a Dunkin Donuts using their WiFi in the parking lot. Bike in the back with new tires that so far have rolled less than 100 feet. The weather is mostly cloudy now and 68DegF. I'm an hour away from the Bash and leaving after I get a half dozen donuts for me and Jim. I figure I'll at least be able to get 2 of'em.

Doc and myself rode back together. A little soggy but made it home safely.

Great Bash, even with all the rain. :smt023

Will post more later.

Marty

Home safely as of 13:30

I got pelted with rain from shortly after leaving the Bash until I got to Gettysburg. I stopped there to dry out and drink something hot. Unfortunately that was all the delay necessary for the rain to arrive there. So I had to endure rain types 1,4,8,13,17, and 105 all the way to the MD/VA line.

I hate it when the rain seeps in under the visor and borks the interior of the plastic. No amount of finger squeegee will fix that :)

I had a great time and look forward to seeing you all again as soon as is convenient for everyone. :P

One of the nice things about being so close (and directly west) of this bash is I got home well before the rain. One of the driest rides I had for the whole bash  But I wouldn't have missed it for anything! What a great time! Thanks to everyone for making a first timer feel welcome. Looking forward to the next one already.

John

P.S. Scotty's wrap up is here. Great job Scotty! What an awesome bash!!

What a blast, I can only imagine how much fun a Bash is without rain.
Now I'm thinking about Arkansas.
Do they have Banjos there too?

Uploading files now, will post them after I get dried out & get some work done.

The riding weather for my three days of the Bash -- getting there on Friday riding with everyone on Saturday, and heading home today -- were the same: three or more hours of dryness followed by three or more hours of rain. It was blast, but lets try for more dry time next year.

Got home this safely this afternoon around 3:30. Had a wonderful time, met some great guys (and ladies)! The ride up on thursday was great, friday was kinda wet but had a really good ride on sat. The planning and execution by Scotty and Jim was first rate! My thanks to both of you!

Quite frankly when I went out for my first ride friday (in the rain) I was very nervous. My leg still bothers me from my accident nearly 4 months ago and I have a confidence problem. The ride went well, went out with the gang yesterday for another long ride, hit a substantial pour on the way back and my nervousness subsided a bit. The long ride home today was in considerable rain (probably 5 hours of steady rain) but to my surprise I felt no nervousness at all. (Just a sore butt)

Anyway, all is well and looking forward to next year!

Yeah, I had my stupid hat on tight this weekend. Gave up 3 solid chances on Saturday to put on my rain gear.
Then yesterday, I used my air compressor in a muddy parking lot... upside down. #-o
That compressor was making it like it wanted to dig its way to China

Good thing I wasn't trying to do an Iron Butt Sunday. Brian and I lingered a little over breakfast after a 2 hour ride from our 6:15 start, then except for a stop for supplemental rain gear for me, we rode out gas tank to gas tank without stopping until we parted at I-77. Rain for much of the way! :(

After that, I hit more serious rain in TN and made 3 stops because lightning got uncomfortably close! Didn't want the Arai to be a lightning rod!

After 690 miles and 14+ hours, I rolled into the garage. Not a good average MPH but the weather wasn't average!

Good time! Nice to meet some new folks and see the previous attendees again. See you next year or sooner!

Wow, What fun the BASH was!!

First, I must THANK Scotty, DOC (aka Jim Lane I think), and Marty for all of their hours of effort in putting this thing together! Great Job!!!!! Great rides!

Second, since I am new to your group, I am Paul, aka SecondWind on this board. It will take me a while to figure what Face Fits the Name that fits YOUR "R" handle. Meeting you really personalizes the discussion board for me and I also know what to expect from differing personalaties of the members.

Thanks for welcoming me and I enjoyed every minute. I would describe each of you as Unique Characters with Character. Riding, camaraderie, and fun is your common bond. I also like that there are no Club meetings, no rules (except for MikeCams rules :p ) outside of good taste and common sense. The silver lining in the clouds for me is that the big rains on Friday let me get to know you all better.

I hope to get together w VA and NC riders for some riding during the year and look forward to seeing you all again at Hungry Mother in Aug. and on this board.

Best Regards!

I was in some miserable rain to Maryland. Then it turned to miserable wind and rain. Fortunately, the rain ended about the time I got to Morgantown WV. I'm sure Biff thinks Senator Byrd had something to do with the rain stopping! Maybe he did.... Once on dry ground, I made good time. It was still quite windy, but I was able to run 80 to 90 MPH most the way. It took me a little over 14 hours to go 850 some odd miles.

I also had a great time. Thanks to all the organizers of this event. I've never been very complementary of Yankees, but they did a fine job. I'm ready for another Bash. However, if it's in the fall, it needs to be during the week. Fall is football season! Get your priorities straight!

Thad, you are right about Robert C. Byrd keeping the rain away. The snow last year was due to Rich Rodriguez.
