Acumen digital gear indicator

I did look at this last year, but drew a blank & gave up - would be interested if anyone has an affordable solution.
Are you sure about this? :?

I haven't looked at my own 04 bike yet, but Acumen Electronics in the UK give fitting instructions for the R1150R (all years), so surely it must have an electronic impulse speedo... here's the link, R1150R mentioned on page 2, with connection information for Tacho AND Speedo:

EDIT: I guess the speedo is mechanical after all... and one would need the Acumen 'upgrade kit' to convert to electronic... don't think I'll bother!

Would it be possible, if the R-R has ABS, to simply tap into the ABS pulses in place of the speedo pulses?

I haven't been following this very closely and maybe this has been covered but don't some of the other Oilhead models have gear indicators?

I looked on BeemerBoneYard. They have some BMW gear indicator switches that apparently replace the neutral switch. Couldn't one of these be plugged into the RR wiring? You would then need some type of read out to mount. Maybe the readout from the RT or other model to match up?
