To explain why, for me, laziness was not a factore.

My garage is at the end of a busy ally with a plumbing contractor, carpet distrubtion warehouse, and an automotive shop.

After almost being hit on 3 occassions climbing off the bike to open the garage door, I installed a garage door opener under the tank, tied to the turn cancel button.

For those who want to try, here is how I did it:

solder two wires to the battery lead on the remote control, make sure you give yourself about 12 to 18 inches of lead to reach from the opener to the wiring harness. Make sure you know which wire is + and which is - ! If you garage opener is not 12v, you can get pot (variable resistor) and dial down the voltage to what you need (3v, 6v).

now wrap everything to be water proof. I used a heavy zip lock freezer back and alot of duct tape.

now remove your tank. I attached the opener in the space where the ABS would be. attach the postive lead from the opener to any switch on postive source you can find (I attached to a lead that was already there for my driving light relay). Attach the - (ground) to the wire for the turn cancel button ( think it is brown with a gray stripe).

put tank back on and enjoy being lazy!!!
