No, it's open to the public, but you must buy a 4 day pass. Last year it was $35, which gets you 4 days of camping, music, bike shows, demo rides, and vendors.

Last year was over 9000 bikes, not all BMW's. Not a Harley crowd though. No wet t-shirt contests. But the people, the riding, the music, the eats, the drinking were great. Oh, and it rained a lot on Saturday/Sunday.

Can you pre pay for the pass? I saw you can have the camping gear set up for youself there.

April 1 the MOA website starts taking registrations. Little Havana (nickname for the Sherpa tent city) fills up pretty fast. If you plan on using their services better call them ASAP to check availability.

I know it's a bit early, but have any of the folks headed to the MOA from points East made arrangements to meet up to ride out to WI?
I'm in the Philly area and would love to take the scenic route out - at least through PA - and hit the slabs in the flatlands. Also thinking about using the MI-WI ferry as part of the trip. There is a bike-only service on the 16:45 crossing on 11 July that seems like fun and the MOA discounted rate is pretty reasonable at $50/RT.
I know I've seen comments from a couple of Garden Staters, Slower Delaware, Delmarva, etc. Has anyone planned a route yet and made arrangements to link up? If not, is anyone interested in setting something up?

I'm thinking of taking the Ferry as well. I don't know if I will make the 16:45 appointment though. I will be coming from Port Dover, leaving there at about 11:00AM. It's about a 6 hour ride to the ferry.

challey, I am in NJ near Philly. I plan on leaving Tues morning, and meeting up with TonyT607 and crew. I may just get a early start and head up to his casa in North NJ, his better half makes great coffee and he lives in Bageltown USA. We have been discussing the ferries, but getting locked into a timetable with reservations gets us away from our style of riding

I used to live in Buffalo and given the current state of international affairs, I don't see a super smooth transition into Canada. I just remember seeing cars being taken apart looking for drugs back in the '90s. I can only imagine what they'll think of a bunch of bikes with bags/tents/stuff hanging off of them.

Still better than going through northern ohio, indiana and illinois!!!!

I went across the border at Niagra Falls in 2003, and it was pretty uneventful. It was also raining cats and dogs, and my dad and I were the only idiots in sight on motorcycles. Crossed in less than 5 minutes.

Just be careful if you come back into the USA at Detroit. The neighborhood you are dumped into seemed pretty rough and that was on a Sunday at 8:30 am.
