I am very familiar with the 2. I know exactly where they sit and wait.

Exactly my point. The 2 in that area must be one of the lowest spots in crashes. If the police really meant to enforce safety, they would watch the junction 101-405 rated as the deadliest of the US.

how you were caught -- radar, lidar, vascar, other? You said the road was clear, no traffic ... so where was the cop?
One of the worst things that can happen to an otherwise law-abiding middle-class working stiff in this great country is to get caught up in our screwed-up legal system. The violent criminals frequently get off with a slap on the wrist while you and I end up paying the price and going bankrupt in the process.

It saved you big bucks in the long run Rob. Congrats. I'm just waiting for my first big ticket... my K12R cannot be contained any better than my 1150 could

I have no idea.Like an idiot I did not check the last onramp before I wicked it up some. I have a strong feeling the LEO was on the Mountain Ave. northbound onramp. From there its a long stretch of no ramps. I think he paced me but he did not say & I could not figure it out from the ticket.
He did say he had to run at 115 to catch me. I think thats why he was so mad (can't really blame him).

A bit prior to getting that ticket I test rode a K1200S, really thinking I'd buy a K1200R. I soon learned that would not be a good idea. The RR is really pretty easy to keep below 90 indicated (on my bike thats 82, just starting inside of ticket territory). I know I would hit 100 on every ride if I had a K bike, which is bad, bad, bad on many levels.
