My QDs are still original, 100K+ miles.
My previous bike had approx 45K and they were fine on that too.

Re: Rockster lighting
Well, after my first night time ride last night I can report that 1200GS lights are not great.....OK, and a huge improvement on what went before but I was a tad disappointed. I'll experiment with adjustment to see if that brings any improvements.

Re: Rockster lighting
A couple of photos. Still a work in progress as I don't want the bike off the road at the moment so the headlight/screen assemble is only really mocked up. The ears on the top yoke need to come off and I can then bring the whole lot back another inch or so and still have plenty of fork clearance. Couldn't fit the handguards either as the GS has the clutch line on a 90degree banjo whereas the Rockster runs straight into the mounting bracket. Brake side is OK but need a longer top hose anyway so I'll sort both lines out at the same time when I get all the parts together.

Re: Rockster lighting
Next weekends a 800-1000 miler upto the Lakes/Scottish Lowlands so I bullied the handguard into fitting.

GS clutch hose has a 90degree banjo but the R's straight line just rests on top of the clamp.

Again, GS brake hose differs from the R's, without changing it only way to get it to fit was to remove the banjo stop on the master housing and rotate the banjo to run over the top of the clamp. GS line runs through the two clamp halves but the Rockster just runs straight into the mounting bolt if I try and run it there. It looks crap but there's no tight spots on full lock. There's a used top hose on eBay that I'll get gold off and I'll fit it whan I do a brake fluid change.
I also need to get gold of a couple of the clamping washers for the ends of the guards....using large washers at present.
